Voltaire

When Indians can build Akshardham all over the world why not build facilities like Harvard, after all financially, that is not an issue.

We can also get enough scholars and academicians of top class to teach.

However, the mindset to spend on R&D is still lacking in India.

" One good year sets right the damage done by two"- Voltaire, Philosophical Dictionary, 1794

Note the year he had written it!!!

He was indeed a great visionary, scholar far ahead of his time and unfortunately subjected to too much religious persecution.

In fact, Will Durant writes in his history of philosophy, "  Italy had a Renaissance, and Germany had a Reformation, but France had Voltaire; he was for his country both Renaissance and Reformation, and half the Revolution. ... “Laughing lions must come,” said Nietzsche; well, Voltaire came, and “annihilated with laughter".

Then went on to write a separate book ' The Age of Voltaire'.

I cried while reading the biographies of two people both were in France one Madam Curie and the other Voltaire.

Sometimes I keep whispering to myself, then start voicing it only in close circles certain suggestions, hunches out of diplomatic cautiousness and to avoid countering controversies.

Wait for some well-established personality to prompt on relevant topic in open, then reiterate it.

It feels nice when such suggestions fructify.

Sometimes, the waiting is too long,
