Therefore, in media there is no correct word [mostly not even any RIGHT word] they have added a new dimension beyond denotations, connotations to distortions and contortions of terminologies.

Liberty Liberal  and Freedom

I would like to say that the words Liberty and liberal have evolved through a very opaque things or systems etc it had referred to for example word liberty the etymology of the word liberty itself from the  Latin words "Liber," "Libera," and "Liberum" -- with a Long I -- came from the root meaning, "to pour." From this, we get the word "Liberty" (hence pronounced with a short I), from the freedom we feel when we get drunk ,  a sort of feeling high . So a lot depends on what you pour and what gives a feeling of high.

If the same word ‘liber’with a long I -- means, "to peel," [from which the word library is supposed to have come ] and the word liberal from latin liberalis  “ noble, gracious, munificent” and according to one of the best books on history ‘History for a united world’ that I have read long back by an author called Edward Herbert Dance  he mentions that the word liberty and liberal were used for nobles and the aristocrats and it indicated or referred more to ‘class privilege than anything else’ this author incidentally writes “  India was far advanced in many areas when the west was still groping about in dark ages”

So even taking it literally liberty depends on what gives you a feeling of high and it gets its identity with that and as indicated above in modern media labelling it gets identified with anything that is perceived as leftist socialistic concepts correctness and therefore, or to be more blunt and precise, because of that very reason there is nothing lofty about the word liberal itself. So ,if someone says he is very liberal minded means exactly that ‘he is identifying himself with a concept of correctness as defined and determined by the leftist socialistic ideology and it varies from country to country. 

The left must be credited for mutilating even the very meaning of the word by the connotations that they have given it and the brand building exercises that they have carried on.

 

The word free too has two sides the brighter one goes in its root to the word love itself but the darker one is an adverb you get something free, not for free. To quote from ‘Word Nerd’ ‘freebooter is a pirate,”frees” the “booty” from a ship. The elements of freedom are free and doom, but when the word came into English , this combination meant “condition of being judged to be free” and doom then meant “deem”

I​ thought the speech of Palki Sharma yesterday *1 and today’s TOI editorial page opinion column The right word: Terrorist by Arnab Ray*2 both deserved similar reply that 99% of the MSM cannot try to pretend as if they are on a high pedestal and doing a great service except that they can spread their tentacles unlike the other pillars like legislature, judiciary, bureaucracy who have national boundaries and bound to answerability.

Reciprocation in International politics, need for privacy and media menace

My definition of Reciprocation in International politics, need for privacy, media menace and why every Indian needs to learn Margaret Thatcher’s marvelous insights.  

Is VISA necessary for British queen visiting India? Britain must have status at par with other commonwealth nations. Is this an issue at all of any significance to anyone?

Reciprocity, power, position everything comes with many factors predominant among them are prosperous economy and corruption free governance which can pave the way for that.

This is what our Honorable P.M Shri. MODI is prioritizing and methodically and properly going about delivering slowly to ensure long term sustenance of these benefits.

So let us not divert the nation's attention from these priorities with very insignificant things.

Queen’s life or whether she visits India with or without visa is in what way going to bother anyone.

If at all only the staff at Royal palace will get leave and relaxation.

Reciprocation is of six [6] types in international politics and used accordingly as the situation and the strength or weakness of the other demands.

1. Direct Reciprocation i.e. if you scratch my back I will scratch your back;

2. Diplomatic Reciprocation i.e. if you scratch my back, I will ask you to calm down and offer you a shiny satin covered nail chair whose effect you will realize only when you start bleeding with pain;

3. Drastic Reciprocation i.e. if you scratch my back I will break your back immediately so that you cannot even get up and reach for my  back ever;

4. Dragging Reciprocation with dubious justifications i.e. if you scratch my back I tie you up a tree with your back exposed and keep scratching it whenever I want some blood and take breaks under the tree too to pluck its fruits and eat;

5. Ducking Reciprocation i.e. if you scratch my back I duck so low that you stumble on me and fall flat with your face to the ground.

6. Delusional Reciprocation i.e. if you scratch my back I am happy that you have predicted my itch in advance and feel happy.

While standard procedures and rules are welcome there are also situations that warrant Ambulance Law [slight deviations, concessions or over looking certain things in the larger and more urgent, relevant priorities]

Individuals as well as Governments require some amount of free space or privacy to do certain things in secrecy and everything need not necessarily have to be explained to everyone and justified by certain expected SOPs [Standard Operating Procedures]. Based on situations and time there must be room for flexibility.

Excessive and selective media manipulation is preying into privacy of certain individuals and certain national activities and most of these are done more for TRP or gossip etc rather than any great national interest.

More so when governments are run by responsible ministers and media is promoting the interest of the anti-national forces.

Media has been the beneficiary of politicians who have enjoyed power without performance. But all of sudden it selects certain politicians, knowing well every politician has his own ideology and dynamics.

Media menace

NDA Government must be courageous, impartial and expose everyone. Why government is encouraging and is afraid of media mafia.

1. I would not blame the media. I blame the Government for not probing the scam of spending Tax payers’ money and taking a select group of Private Media houses during UPA along with PM MMS on foreign trips. File the case of misuse of tax payers’ money, favoring a few media houses and book them.

2. Why should any minister agree for a media interview?

3. As long as BJP is not going to have enough channels and news papers it is not going to progress.

4. Every regional party in TN has more than 3 to 4 channels.

5. Every minister and ministry must tweet, post in FB in personal name as well as ministry name activities on a daily basis so that these bluff and diversion are exposed.

6. Start in every local language a small newspaper along with many blogs, FB groups etc the very name of them must be Media Lies' and expose them.

7. What ineffective government that BJP is that it is not able to pin the media mafia nexus of tmedia's pay masters.

8. Media is India's greatest anti -national institutions especially just 5 or 6 and the best part is all of them are corrupt.

Hidden in small column of regional news, women empowerment exposed. Popular media print and audio visual cannot make these as national news because that may offend their pay masters but let us spread this and make it go viral

12. 4 or 5 media houses are conducting more trails and delivering more judgments on all issues than all the courts in India put together including on judicial activism when judiciary is not favoring them; preach on parliamentary over reach when parliament wants a panel to appoint judges; blame bureaucratic hurdles when funds of their pay masters get delayed; criticize government corporate nexus; condemn police excess but media mafia , misuse and its lobbies always take umbrage under press freedom.

Viruses that affect the Indian socio- psychological perceptions.

Myth making; hero-worship; citing exceptions as examples and make sweeping statements based on that; over generalizing the particular; particularizing the general; over simplifying the complex; complicating the simple; resorting to unloving criticism and uncritical love; projecting poverty and suffering as the important requirements to get god’s grace; evaluating anything or anyone with irrelevant aspects; quoting and questioning things without contextual relevance; proceeding with justifications to bolster up or brush aside facts; paralyzing simple events with unwarranted and perverted analysis; forging for facts to fit into preconceptions; showing intolerance towards dissent; invent intentions when results are good and useful; pandering to populism and political correctness over providing long term prosperity; making desperate attempts to degrade some and deify others; opposing for the sake of opposing; rejecting reasoning; operating with  selective amnesia and collective indifference;  trying to mask present short comings by raking up past glories and gloat with ethnocentric pride; sit on judgment over everything and everyone without trying to know in detail what we are judging ; generously throwing  opinions around even without doing some home work on any issue, diverting attention from intrinsically important issues by projecting emotionally appealing allegations, twisting facts, total indifference to facts etc have all become such a huge carapace covering the present generation that no one can know what is the real character of this generation.

The prime reason for most of these  ugly trends are because people are overwhelmingly negatively influenced by media houses both in the print and audio visual which churns out heroes out of zeros and in some cases the glamorous reel industry dominates over and sometimes replaces the reality. These worthies in the media are mostly guided by some petrified ideological fixations bolstered by some putrefied slogans and outdated statistics ,  pelf that pours into their purses,  propelled by pseudo intellectualism and all of these masquerading as meaningful concern for the public. These media worthy pawns are moved around to manipulate, mislead and micro manage remotely all domains by multiple forces.

Most unfortunate impact of the manifestation of these attitudes is that  many gullible youths apply most of these indiscriminately across the whole spectrum of human activities like in  political domain, religious activities, social issues, cultural institutions, sports arena, economic development  projects, commercial sector etc.

Unfortunately all these lead to a socio-psychological conditioning which grows into a belief system, then that very belief system conditions everything we encounter it becomes a sort of vicious circle.

Recently a retired Indian army general showed his great skills as a minister in rescuing not only Indians but people from  many countries from the violence torn Yemen while the media managed to divert the whole attention by focusing on a single word ‘presstitudes’ over a whole lot of great work done by the entire team.
