Politics needs to evolve with emphasis on governance

In a way it is a good trend.

I have been a advocate of politics to become, eventually, it will become, almost corporate like management and  execution of social engineering based on data driven, definite deadline specified  delivery of results with well decentralised roles and responsibilities. 

All of these must be systems driven with predefined policy blue prints. 

Proper set procedures in place with scope for adequate room for flexibility to accommodate new and emerging trends and eventualities. 

These approaches will ensure, with emphasis on governance, to deliver rules and norms based economic development , non discriminatory social welfare and all sorts of relevant, well measured appropriate infrastructure.

Economic development and its dimensions

Cat on the wall of ideological institutions cannot develop on economy.

The former CFO of a big firm shared this with me two days back.

While what, unfortunately these charts miss out, and of course, we cannot find fault with them, is the UTILIZATION and DISTRIBUTION of this wealth.

I wrote to him it is these aspect ( UTILIZATION and DISTRIBUTION) which are going to decide the ultimate outcomes of real economic benefits and manifestations of socio-economic comforts and unrest.

INDIA:INDIA has always been and shall continue to be, a vibrant economy, where most of the progress and prosperity are generated by individual entrepreneurs of all sizes and corporate houses.

Though the government owned sectors are huge in size, the proportionate percentage of their contribution to growth is pathetically low.

CHINA: Whereas, in China there is a huge synergy created between the two and that's why whatever others otherwise may or wish to attribute China's development. It has made huge strides in  many relevant economic development indices.

USA: USA has dominated the scenario as a master manager through man management, R&D, MILITARY might, providing good infrastructure,attracting the skill sets across the globe and many other obvious as well as clandestine multi-pronged strategies, scheming and manipulations. Besides all these, whether we like it or not, they have created very good infrastructure for all activities. They did all of that before the advent of protest and outrage epidemic.

No country can fully evolve on economic development indices if it tries to remain as a cat on the wall of ideological institutions. 

Intelligent administration must cleverly channelize (  euphemism for diverting) ideological aspects.

Russia and China of the 20th century did not allow any religious or political ideology to impede or interfere in the progress of economic development. They may have achieved it by some questionable means but the fact is they have achieved them.

Modi's focus

Modi’s focus has been and is always on economic developmental activities from the time he took over as PM and even before that.

However, please try to understand you can get rid of all scaffolding once your new house is ready to occupy but cannot divorce your spouse. Similarly, however great be one's vision, good be one's intentions, excellent one's actions as a political leader one cannot afford to divorce politics totally from policies.

The ways and means and methods of getting political mileage can be maneuvered [as in this domain no one can create any paradigm shift] though cannot be changed but gradually modified into a more civilized way.

It will again take time as in India politics involves poly tricks and itching ticks associated with it all of which cannot be removed or wished away over night and even if one tries doing it MSM will sensationalize it.

To tune all his party men first to the frequency of prioritizing economic development and progress, then educate the public about its importance over everything else etc is difficult, not impossible, but it takes time.

Everyone must realize through reaping the tangible benefits of economic development oriented policies, programs and performance. We must feel happy that at least it is all happening after 60 plus years.

Biggest problem that GOI must address simultaneously is silencing MSM and NGO mafia funded by anti-national forces.

Seniors within the party must be asked to gracefully retire and not resort to media attention seeking, public attention diverting and religious passion whipping activities.

All religion oriented, I mean every religion oriented, activity must be confined to the four walls of the house preferably room, still better within the individual and that will be a sign of real advancement.

While we have allowed evolution in every sphere of human activity in religion alone, we have cautiously protected with love status quo, of course with certain selective misinterpretation of select books or scriptures. This, if you ask any psychologist will tell you is the manifestation of sense of insecurity.

All religious leaders must remember that the greatness of religion does not hinge on the number of adherents but in the temper of tolerance towards others, though there is no harm in having more number of adherents. It does not hinge on louder mikes and larger places of worship or even reclaiming historical mistakes with histrionic attacks.a

To know sincerely about the seriousness with which the present government operates on nation’s economic and social welfare beyond all yellow journalistic projections and paid TV anchors debates I suggest the following at least to educated youth [15 years to 60 years]

For the first time we have a government which moved on with clear cut blue prints on various sectors one such blue print, a must read for every Indian is a book titled ‘Getting India back on track’ [a must read] which deals with serious and sensible reforms in various sectors-incidentally the book was officially released one week after Modi took over as PM but was the result of two years of research preceding that funded by Carnegie Institute.

For the first time we have a government which has come out with the most exhaustive details about various aspects of economy in its economic survey and also made it available for public view and debate without fudging any figures in two volumes I have given links to volume one

For the first time we have a government which has a vision and a methodical and scientifically measured approach to lot of economic and social issues.

For the first time we have a government we have a government which proceeds about addressing very basic issues necessary for the national development and image on many fronts.

No wonder anti-National forces are so intolerant that they instigate students and half baked pretentious know and judge-all paid social watch dogs- part of the barking brigade- lingering in the lobbies of media houses to spit venom and split the nation’s morale on various dividing options.

For all the positivism that is happening actually in governance we have 100 times more negativism in media. So try to avoid all popular media news channels and news papers go into government websites and know about the work that is being done every day in every ministry.

Then decide and vote in all state election where caste and communal issues will be ignited by anti-nationals and magnified by media.

Political maturity after 60 years

Fortunately for the country as a whole after six decades there is a paradigm shift in the political arena and political discourse wherein governance and economic development and through them the social and environmental welfare ,in a way all the four are interrelated and interconnected, are prioritized over all other usual political stunts.

This has become now the expected agenda at least for parties and political leaders to follow after coming to power.

Political stunts as part of getting to power is expected and sometimes necessary as well, but what cannot be tolerated is looting the nation after coming to power; continuing to generously announce populist schemes- like indiscriminate distribution of freebies; taking foreign funds clandestinely through NGOs with anti national agenda; making anti national pronouncements; engaging in sedition; using the media mafia to give out news based on selective amnesia and collective indifference; resorting to meaningless proactive street protests with a very highly intoxicating cocktail of the youth without experience and the old with a proven bad track record when it comes to national welfare.

The media which prefers sensationalism, scandals, and sabotages over sanity resorts to its old victim –villain story line because it has readymade slogans, scripts and sponsors only for such stories. They come up with some new jargons like inclusive growth without even the basic understanding that all measures of positive governance and economic development are always meant only for overall growth and not exclusive growth.

In fact, exclusive growth is promised only in some drugs meant for libido.

Economic Development and empowerment

What actually empowerment of a nation at present is?

And who are the villains and victims?

Why it is imperative to give a chance to economic development, good transparent governance over any political agenda?

Nations, like individuals, have to be empowered. So, the people entrusted with the privilege of ruling/governing the nation and exercising power to enact policies which impact the citizens must be clear about what actually empowerment is at present?

In very simplistic terms it is doing things that would promote economic development leading to taking care of the basic necessities of maximum number of the citizens of the nation along with ensuring to bequeath an environment which won’t harm the lives in future. I am carefully and intentionally avoiding much debated and debatable terminologies like sustainable development, bio-diversity etc.

Though all these may sound as simple as a school boy’s essay, in reality, ruling/governing a nation, any nation, is not an easy task; whatever be the form of government that is in place.

Internally there are both obvious as well as hidden hurdles.

The international politics has so many intrigues that the labyrinth of it is unclear and unknown even to the most well versed, well equipped spy agencies of most powerful nations in the world.  

Manipulations of all kinds political, economic, commercial, trade, attack etc are all so masked and complicated that it is not easy even to know them. In addition the information explosion spreads so many stories some of which could be true and many of them mere hunches peddled by vested interest groups to create portrayal of proverbial victim-villain phenomenon to whip up passions of a group or generate reactions to gauge international opinions or garner international support.

But however much one may wish away the ‘victim-villain’ story line is what is easily understood by the majority of human beings. So, no wonder all politicians and media manipulators use it effectively.

Nations will have to know not only what real empowerment is, they also need to make the public know who the real victims and villains are.

The unfortunate but unavoidable facts are that there are many nation states and groups which pander more to identity politics; defining modern states based on some old ‘isms’ of economical models; ancient religious affinities etc . More sickening is the fact that these are backed by opinion molding media propaganda which pushes whole populations into identity cages without letting them live life in comfort and calmness and let others too enjoy the same privilege.

The villains are no more obvious invaders, colonialists, imperialists imposing their bossy insolence, military powers dropping bombs or wagging wars;

The villains are not present physically at the national borders;

They are not lurking in bushes or sailing into your shores with sirens;

The villains are the surreptitious creepy political and economic manipulators aided by media mafia [euphemistically referred to as propaganda peddlers or mass opinion molders], international political manipulators, identity hawkers, some unfortunate dirty corporate houses and some dubious financial institutions etc who are in the grip of these manipulators. So, even alert nations fall a prey to these manipulators unknowingly and unwillingly.

The victims are the rest of humanity who are not engaged in these activities. The victims actually outnumber the villains. Therefore, it is easier to create a conducive world where governance based on economic developmental agenda is given a priority over the rest.

Many books, documents, nowadays websites and blogs provide some sneak peek into denouement of unimaginable international political manipulations and ramifications. Of course, these are confined to most often just two or three continents not all. We can extrapolate and imagine the magnitude of invisible impacts. Unfortunately, we have neither astronomical facts nor astrological charts to decipher or even hunch the outcomes of these.

To sum it all in brief, the summits, conferences and meetings of international leaders very nicely mask these realities with diplomatic wheedling, hypocritical bonhomie, pious oaths, catchy slogans, attractive policy pronouncements, tedious treaties, symbolic gestures, photogenic postures etc and finally the secretaries, top diplomats trot out with hangover from cocktail parties to brief the media either with or without handing over the brief case of currencies to carry a favorable story of grand success of summit.

1. Yes it is good for movies to show one's angst against any of the irritating social systems and throws up great heroes like Amitabh when he portrayed the unemployed youth in the 70s but if you are trying to put up an act in real politics then that by itself is a big corruption.

2. You need to wait for anything to happen even for the birth of a child you just cannot have sex and expect delivery the next day it happens only in films

3. Educated people will not be frustrated and frustrated people are not educated, they are all academically inadequately qualified, if adequately qualified they will be busy with their profession and not waste their time with AAP tamasa.

4] Ak 's primary slogan was anti corruption or at least that was the platform that Anna created and AK misused to his opportunistic advantage

5] Touch your heart and search your senses and tell me is it correct using such a platform to align with congress , the epicenter of corruption

6] Do not generalize all political parties or all politicians as corrupt that will be good for film script dialogues of Ramana of Vijayakanth or Shivaji of Rajni kanth or bhatcha of Rajini after two hours you get an illusion of solution to all your social problems and the next day you know the fact that Rajini earned some 200 crores and you lost some 500 Rs for tickets, petrol and popcorn at least you would have had the pleasure of seeing two masala numbers by scantily clad damsels whirling to some high decibel nonsense of noise called film music .

7] This ship up booted out does not happen always  if you have been following politics closely  it was during NDA the country had for the first time something known as good highways, high level of employment and more institutes of higher education and highly managed price control but then the same bunch of leftist Leninist Marxist Naxal supporting so called socialist parties supported and put UPA to power next time it was another looter DMK who did it.

8] Politics is not as simple as announcing populist schemes, making public speeches, distributing freebies, taking foreign funds clandestinely through NGOs with anti national agenda, making anti national pronouncements, engaging in sedition, keeping a grave silence about the corruption of a particular family knowing well if AK makes any move against Robert Vadra, or Sonia then AK’s family members will disappear one by one under  mysterious circumstances [ if he has balls I dare him to do that , at least make a statement about the dubious deals of Robert Vadra if he is really sincere, then I will work for AAP

9] AAP suffers from selective amnesia and collective indifference combined with proactive road shows a very highly intoxicating cocktail to be prohibited for youth

10] He is so focused in his personal agenda that he forgets to salute the national flag as a CM on republic day, mind you in any other country he would have been stoned to death for that, at least that shows his  scant respect for the nation.

11] Most importantly we as a nation are used to some psychological fallacies falling a prey to illusions combined with a pride in our ancient history of our past glory and forget the most important idioms of  modern democratic governments which can promote both civilization and progressive economic development , two fundamental aspects among the many vital factors of modern decent life. 12] These two most important idioms, overlooked even from pre-independence period are governance and overall economic development which will automatically deliver the benefits to all sections of the society, there is no need to talk of nonsensical media labels as ‘inclusive growth’ etc as all measures are always meant only for overall growth and not exclusive growth, except of course in the case of Viagra, where it is meant for exclusive growth.

13] When those idioms are in place then there will be naturally a national pride, real patriotic fervor coupled with a sense of adherence to rules etc as is the case in USA and many European countries which will attract others also but unfortunately, even most of the pioneers who steered the freedom struggle in India and who were or ought to have been aware, as they got educated in UK, namely Mahatma Gandhi and Nehru, failed to even give a minor importance to that.

15] Without doubt there are three Chief Ministers who have done that in recent times in MP, GOA and Gujarath and of these in Gujarath it is extraordinary, in all areas from agriculture, rural development, electricity, water supply, industrial development, higher education, communal harmony, employment generation, exports, tourism etc.

16] Chandra Babu Naidu enhanced Andra’s presence in IT which gave jobs to many educated people of Andra.

17] Way back Karunanidhi improved public transport so well that Tamil Nadu has the best public transport system anywhere in the country. M.G.R. encouraged higher educational institutions and hospitals as a rest Tamil Nadu has the maximum number of engineering colleges[ many good ones] and many good hospitals.

Jayalalitha introduced rain water harvesting schemes that has helped Tamil nadu come out of the decades of cursed water scarcity problem and now has introduced AMMA canteens which helps the poor immensely.

18] The media must busy themselves by giving more publicity to these developmental activities in different states rather than running behind publicity seeking road shows in the few streets of Delhi.

19] It is so pathetic that in such a vast country anything gets noticed only if it is a road show in some streets of Delhi that I too as a leader of a national organization with members from Kashmir to kanyamuri organized a street show of dharna in Parliament Street in 2011.

20] I even get a feeling that the media cameras and reporters move out of their studios and the capital only when there is an accident, or a small child falls into a bore well or a rape takes place in other parts of the country.
