Global outlook

The maximum reward one may get is social ego massages in the form of gracing functions as a chief guest and getting decorated with some awards prefixed with ' padma'. ( You cannot even have free time with any Padma).

There is an unwelcome ecosystem with lack of rational, scientific, measured evaluation of one's contribution and value addition.

Here unfortunately, real quality work is not valued and opportunities are not open. Everything is tossed between hypocrisy and hype, excessive ideology based political affinities and restrictive religious sanctions.

I always believe at ' personal level' the healthiest life is one in which we have freedom of expression and before that socially unfettered original and creative thinking which offers simple, comfortable, happy , peaceful life.

At a ' social level ' the concept of ' connecting people and creating contextually relevant relationships'  'to deliver outcomes with proportionate and reciprocally justifiable trade offs'. (Tsekung asked, “Is there one word that can serve as a principle of conduct of life” and Confucius replied, “It is the word SHU meaning ‘reciprocity’.)

In the present India, I would not like to say, modern India, I am struck with an uneasy ambivalence.

I am in love with this ' great country' but hate this ' poorly governed nation ' for almost 6 plus decades.

I am proud of its ancestry and dream/wish of it being a hope for the future because it has certain inherent value system which are far more humanitarian and ensures a very hospitable mentality where people 'were' living socially friendly without any inhibition, paradoxically, very ideal for growth but we have ended up the other way.

So, I think as a country, it is worth having such dreams and another advantage was it did not have an institutionalised religious authority hindering individual human  aspirations and hence had inherently a vast scope for freedom which enabled it to excel enormously when many parts of the world were still in the dark.

However, we cannot infinitely carry on singing  the refrain of our past glories.

Unfortunately, we are 60 years behind in adopting modern governance in tune with basic global trends of a sophisticated rational thinking cosmopolitan civilization with focus on economic priorities or at least ensuring infrastructure providing basic needs of the people.

"We live in a changing universe, and few things are changing faster than our conception of it”-Timothy Ferris

“There is no tomorrow. There is only a planet turning on its axis, and a creature given to optimistic fancies”-Robert Brault

“Evolution itself is an open ended and indeterminate process”… “Given the remarkable progress in our understanding of biochemistry, molecular biology, and evolution as a whole … we have failed to develop concepts, ideas, even a language that could capture the dance of this life” - Guy Murchie

Even our much paraded monks and Swamijis had to be either endorsed or sponsored by foreigners. Even a great Swami Vivekananda had to get endorsed by Sister Nivedita, Ramana Maharshi by Paul Brunton, Sri Aurobindo by  mother Mira, Prabhupada , Srisri, Jaggi are all sponsored and sustained by foreign funds.

Without the global exposure not only would they have ended up as one more regional monk and their spiritual and philosophical insights would have gone unnoticed and unrecorded. Why even the greatest philosopher J.KRISHNAMURTHY had to be discovered by foreigners.

Why even all the following had to be recognised by foreigners .

Bose the great scientist, Bose the real freedom fighter, Ramanujam the Mathematics genius ( had he stayed here would have ended up as a clerk in Port) .

So, it is high time that we adopt a global outlook and perspective to grow rather than getting stuck in petty local sloganeering for political mileage.

Rational and humane synergy

Natural cultural and national identity and affinity along with broader cosmopolitan global outlook and outreach are the manifestations of uncompromising firm sophistication and civilized life styles which allow space for rational  and humane synergy leading to accepting  diversity and assuring unity.

Global governance is a good idea but a greater idea must be global concern

Global governance is a good idea but a greater idea must be global concern

Global aspirations must be inspired by universal and humane attitudes towards all for the benefit of everything including the whole environment taking into consideration the inevitable regional varieties and group identities as well as individual aspirations.

The word global too, unfortunately, become a much misused term by some vested interest groups who have covered up many deeds of international manipulations through creating homogeneity and to push through their hidden agenda of hegemony.

Most of us, obviously, review all existing problems and pleasures using our available or anchored identities of religions with all their scriptures, political systems with all their ideologies and so on.

This is perhaps the tool that we tend to see because the problems basically originated from these pools of knowledge and ideas and so we think that the solutions also must be available somewhere there so that we can recycle all the waste in those domains and create new toys with different names. But unfortunately that does not work that way.

I, like many other souls, on earth, have felt the need for happy co existence of humans all over the planet along with all other species and as a species actually contributing positively and more effectively for enhancing and making life more enjoyable and enlightened due to some unique faculties that human species possess over the rest and the huge advantage that science and technology offer to us.

However, the story is otherwise. We have complicated our life too much with excessive love for external identities and contaminated our thinking by interpreting all well meaning models of our ancestors by looking at through perverted and negative perspective and are perennially enjoy a sadistic pleasure from projecting a paranoiac bleak future.

If at all there is any method which can at least move in the direction of effecting the necessary changes to all these problems, then, it has to inevitable start with again some idea of global thinking, global attitude, global rules and regulations and so on.

But the problem arises as to in which areas of human life and nature can a global agenda or regulation work effectively because life in every aspect and in all its myriad manifestations reveals, revels and reverberates with variety.

Also whether global outlook and thinking can ever emerge as an idea, or as a culture or as a psychological attitude or as a social reality and accordingly it has to be implemented because very often good intentions do not get implemented as you cannot push them as another agenda and also they get struck due to excess of exaggerated expectations, in modern times also un wanted excessive publicity along with lack of realization of ground realities.

I have been very badly wanting a global perspective on everything on this planet and written with my limited perceptions and perspectives on many occasions on various issues on this.

My observation if we shift our emphasis from human life centric approach to boundary less or border less humane attitude centric attitude to evolve a lovable life at present with adequate prosperity for all and bequeath a livable planet for posterity

What is foreign in a globalized world? There is no need for Xenophobia especially on our Republic Day.

What is foreign in a globalized world? There is no need for Xenophobia especially on our Republic Day.

After all we are all species inhabiting the planet earth.

Simple principle is neither we should harm others nor let others harm us.

Being hospitable even to our enemies and giving refuge to them has been the Dharma of this land.

Though all these may sound empty philosophy devoid of practical political dynamics.

Though it is a mere idealistic wish that all human beings share with and care for each other still it is the best idealist wish one can think of .

If we observe the evolution of human societies and civilization all positive growth has happened only after or when human beings started recognizing, realizing, reciprocating and respecting people, cultures, things, arts, events happening in other places and understanding that all are inter related or inter connected  with or without liking it and either with willing acceptance or not.

Viruses invade causing trouble so they need to be checked but good bacteria invade they need to be welcomed and this is the law of nature. Discretion defines decisions not necessarily predefined positions.

Variety, differences, contrasting and contradictory states [inherent polarity principle] are part of nature; but mentally and psychologically dividing in any manner or constantly thinking in those lines is not good for any humane emancipation of humanity.

Even every fence defines and demarks a territory but acts as a connection.
I think we can allow French, Australian, Japanese, American, Russian armies etc to participate in our parade but not Pakistan army.

But if there is a natural calamity in Pakistan even Indian army will go and help. That is real humanism because both Indians and Pakistanis are ultimately human species with limited life spans why not help each other.

No value, virtue or vindication must be vulnerable to individual views or politicized projection though that could be the profession for some like certain media houses or livelihood and survival identity for some political outfits like AAP.
