Proclaiming intentions better than policy paralysis and pretensions

I have always wondered how all spy stories, theories, actual spying, security inputs, intelligence gathering and sharing are over powered by the multi pronged but masked international political manipulations or threats, enhanced further by advanced technology.

Besides as most people do not have real access to many micro details of military intelligence, security inputs and therefore any or all debates by people who are not in the thick of these activities are bound to be inadequate to that extent and sometimes could at best be possibilities/possible dreams/wishes weaved around perceptions that one has based on different narrations and claims.

But having read many political criticisms and analysis and works by and about Henry Kissinger’s, Churchill, Disraeli, Thatcher  and gleaning through history of politics or politics of history in today’s contextual perspective some of the old models are still worth adopting but not all of them because the narrative of international and intra national relations are defined by various factors and are inextricably interconnected in many ways due to evolving necessities of  civilization and exigencies of economy.

So any aggressive war as real estate acquisition activity or even territorial claim /protection with armed aggression may be only counterproductive and inflict more loss to all sides.

What works more effectively is of course as always propaganda, power-both economic and political; in addition powerful pals in international community and activities like diplomatic wheedling and so on.

The notions of perceived threats and presumed enemies as being confined in any particular geographical location is also not always correct as can be seen in many undeclared wars and attacks from within in many places.

So, no nation is willing to take any obsessive paranoiac declared stand against any other nation, more so any neighbor, unless it is inevitable as in some specific cases.

It is always burden or risk rather than any benefit by being a friend or an enemy of a whole group of people steeped in tradition and unwilling to adapt to evolving trends of civilization. This applies to groups on both extremes of the spectrum the radical and pusillanimous.

Specifically regarding Tibet, as they belong to the second category indicated above i.e a very timid race. Even in 2014 many Tibetians were only self immolating in thousands without either bravely fighting or garnering ideological support from any nation or even realizing that they need to look at and rectify their short comings in the present generation.

I think psychologically and practically as a nation its citizens will have to start living in sync with the present times which will be the only liberating factor for them as a nation.

India cannot afford to be their patron or protector. Morally we can sympathize with their plight, but practically we have nothing to gain irrespective of whatever happens to Tibet because if we take it as our task it will be more of a burden of feeding a few lakh monks and Sherpas who are not going to be of any use to anyone. They have refused to get updated in a highly competitive, cut throat, cunning, corrupt world of political maneuvering.

So, in my view proclaiming an intention is an important step, but obviously not the ultimate goal or even an effective tool which everyone including those who are proclaiming it, are aware of and they do not need to take lesson on international diplomacy from any news room reporter.

What is of greater importance is  to make other nations change their perception of us as a nation with dignity and take note of us rather than either ignore us or look down at us but interact with us with due diplomatic respect and relevance in larger scheme of things.

At any time in a nation’s life proclaiming intentions, that too positive intentions, is better than policy paralysis and pretensions.

Viruses that affect the Indian socio- psychological perceptions.

Myth making; hero-worship; citing exceptions as examples and make sweeping statements based on that; over generalizing the particular; particularizing the general; over simplifying the complex; complicating the simple; resorting to unloving criticism and uncritical love; projecting poverty and suffering as the important requirements to get god’s grace; evaluating anything or anyone with irrelevant aspects; quoting and questioning things without contextual relevance; proceeding with justifications to bolster up or brush aside facts; paralyzing simple events with unwarranted and perverted analysis; forging for facts to fit into preconceptions; showing intolerance towards dissent; invent intentions when results are good and useful; pandering to populism and political correctness over providing long term prosperity; making desperate attempts to degrade some and deify others; opposing for the sake of opposing; rejecting reasoning; operating with  selective amnesia and collective indifference;  trying to mask present short comings by raking up past glories and gloat with ethnocentric pride; sit on judgment over everything and everyone without trying to know in detail what we are judging ; generously throwing  opinions around even without doing some home work on any issue, diverting attention from intrinsically important issues by projecting emotionally appealing allegations, twisting facts, total indifference to facts etc have all become such a huge carapace covering the present generation that no one can know what is the real character of this generation.

The prime reason for most of these  ugly trends are because people are overwhelmingly negatively influenced by media houses both in the print and audio visual which churns out heroes out of zeros and in some cases the glamorous reel industry dominates over and sometimes replaces the reality. These worthies in the media are mostly guided by some petrified ideological fixations bolstered by some putrefied slogans and outdated statistics ,  pelf that pours into their purses,  propelled by pseudo intellectualism and all of these masquerading as meaningful concern for the public. These media worthy pawns are moved around to manipulate, mislead and micro manage remotely all domains by multiple forces.

Most unfortunate impact of the manifestation of these attitudes is that  many gullible youths apply most of these indiscriminately across the whole spectrum of human activities like in  political domain, religious activities, social issues, cultural institutions, sports arena, economic development  projects, commercial sector etc.

Unfortunately all these lead to a socio-psychological conditioning which grows into a belief system, then that very belief system conditions everything we encounter it becomes a sort of vicious circle.

Recently a retired Indian army general showed his great skills as a minister in rescuing not only Indians but people from  many countries from the violence torn Yemen while the media managed to divert the whole attention by focusing on a single word ‘presstitudes’ over a whole lot of great work done by the entire team.

Letter to Penguin

I am great fan of penguin, oxford and faber publications as an avid reader for the past 6 decades.

Faber for publishing some rare authors and you two for your scrupulous introduction to authors and classics and books of all genres which gave us an indication about how serious an editorial team you have. So for classics and great works my preference was penguin or oxford, even if I found them a bit costly for my purse. I am sure this is the case with many discerning readers and writers.

I have learned a lot from great books like Age of Reason, Human Destiny by Le comte du Nuoy etc published only by penguin.

I can understand the business compulsions which may require you to make minor compromises ideologically to survive but at the same time publishing books on sensitive subjects even without verifying the factual errors, leave alone ideologically different interpretations or varying opinions etc, tarnishes the quality of business and lack of ethical standards both can harm your business in the long run and this can happen more often if you pander to works churned out by people indoctrinated and working with hidden agenda, ulterior motives etc emanating from those fossilized ideologies of Leftist Marxism or  Leninism or Missionaries marketing religion through conversions and degrading of other religions and cultures.

Let them publish their own political or religious pamphlets and books which those who are interested or identify with or  forced to will always buy and read. 

Their agenda is so hidden that you may be used as a tool , without your even being aware of it, to target a different person or ideology.

I love all ideologies because every ideology  has a role to play but what I am against is the hidden agenda, which has no qualms about destroying the very tool it uses to propagate, after all these ideologies killed millions of people and created economic and cultural backwardness for many nations.

Please do not let down the legacy of your quality or ethical standards down the drain by publishing books like those of Wendy especially to a nation which perhaps will be the major consumer of your product in future by the sheer volume of its literate population. 

Psychopolitics- THE ART AND SCIENCE OF BRAIN WASHING

Dear Vaidyanathanji,

Again another wonderful observation from you but then it has been going on for centuries and this is not confined to just economics or politics. I have come across many people say, when they like some book very much and use it as a reference manual for many things in life ' this my bible'. Why not this is my Veda,Upanishad or Gita? The propaganda and brain washing have penetrated our subconsciousness itself and operates as a malign cancer. But many myths and irrelevant rituals thrive on this.

The west cannot understand anything without Branding and labeling with some nomenclature, then trying to generalize everything within its decided label and follow it up by homogenizing it and where there is either no opposition  or meek opposition then resort to hegemonising.

It they find certain things which do not fit into their presumed and pet labels then they resort to labeling those as another group but which must be necessarily not just different but inferior and therefore to be branded as something derogatory.

You will see this pattern in all aspects of their life be it their religion, economic systems, social cultures, political systems, personal behavior etc.

They fail to realize that variety is the inherent and inevitable law of nature.

But they have been carrying this out as a well developed subject called

Psychopolitics. What is Psychopolitics?

Psychopolitics is the art and science of asserting and maintaining

dominion over the thoughts and loyalties of individuals, officers,

and masses and the effecting of the conquest of all others through "mental/psychological healing."

The subject of Psychopolitics breaks down into several categories,

each a natural and logical progression from the last. Its first subject

is the constitution and anatomy of man, himself, as a political organism.

The next is an examination of man as an economic organism, as

this might be controlled by his desires. The next is classification of

State goals  or religious goals for the individual and masses. The next is an examination of loyalties. The next is the general subject of obedience. The next is the anatomy of the stimulus-response mechanisms of man. The next is the subject of shock and endurance. The next is categories of experience. The next is the catalyzing and aligning of experience. The next is the use of derogatory labels, pressures, collective boycotting, tortures, terrorism either promoted through religious or political or economic identity or ideology  and so on. All in very simple terms manifestations of intolerance whatever be the name we may give to them . The next is the use of implantation. The next is the general application of Psychopolitics by spreading its octopusian tentacles The next is the organization and use of counter-Psychopolitics. The next is the use of Psychopolitics in the conquest of unwilling and non co- operating inferior folks. The next is psychopolitical organizations everywhere with some willing local participants who are capable of operating with hidden agenda.The next is the creation of slave philosophy in a hostile territories making yu  slaves not necessarily always physically but economically, psychologically and socially. The next is countering anti-psychopolitical activities and the final one, the destiny of psychopolitical rule in a so-called scientific age. To this might be added many subcategories, such as the nullification of individual rights and many other better options etc

The Psychopolitics is more effective particularly when used in a nation decayed by pseudo-intellectualism in academics, national betrayal in politics, corruption in economic activities, cultural degradation in social life etc and in this environment exploitation of the masses by using  psychopolitical actions is very easy and effective. It starts as brainwashing and ends up subverting a whole lot of people.

And this technique has been proved effective by both communists and Christianity.
