China's pitch
It adopted political communism to control dissent and economic capitalism to generate employment and to create value addition and wealth with biz friendly ecosystem for overseas companies and investors.
India's time is now
From 2014 gradually GOI has checked corruption to a great extent, focused on rules based governance , focussed on economic development with social welfare. This has now created after 9 plus years an ecosystem where every big global biz house must start manufacturing units and trading with India.
India and Indian's strength and weakness.
Ford has been ONLY IN AUTOMIBILES for several decades he has not even looked at manufacturing tyres ( he tried for a brief period in 1922-23). Whereas, in India biz houses like TATA & AMBANIS are into EVERYTHING from atta to airplanes to automobiles to fruits and veg to furniture. DIVERSIFICATION is their strength for both GROWTH and SURVIVAL.
Weakness
Lack of decentralisation which has not enabled the growth of bigger and older corporates like the many companies of Chettiyars in South India, the TVS group, in North the Kotharis, Escorts , Sriram Textiles
STRENGTH
But "TATA and Ambani have DECENTRALISED, brought in PROFESSIONALS, VALUED and TRUSTED PEOPLE WHO WERE PART OF THEIR JOURNEY so they have actual WORKING EXPERIENCE IN THE BIZ and KNOW WHAT ENABLED THEIR BIZ GROWTH. In a way showing gratitude to those who worked for them. After the terrorist attack on TAJ the GM has been literally given complete powers to run the hotel as if it is his property.
Strength
The reason for TATA's growth is both hiring professionals and more importantly decentralisation.
Now, Ratan does not even remember who reports to him and is not able to move out of his cot and chair but has decentralised.
So, the company is carrying on his LEGACY..
The corporate world is now slowly coming to realise that the bubble of VALUATION GAMES cannot be over hyped but REALISATION GAME is more productive, stable and sustainable.
Political parties have to deliver real benefits and cannot carry on with mere rhetoric, slogans and sensationalism etc.
