The Economist is a pompous drivel. It is a rag that promoted Oxford DPhil Ruja Ignatova, the only woman on the US’s “Most Wanted” list and is yet to apologize for this. This is a rag that has a habit of playing presstitutes even more than the BBC in “great” Britain or the Washington Post (popularly referred to as “The Washington Compost” in the US.
When I used very polished terminology to convey the above initially, there was a big argument with some academic institute ( read IIM) bred half baked, superficial idiots fed only on such literature as from the Economist, the Times, BBC , Washington Post, The Wire, Caravan etc on political and economic issues.
I went to the extent of saying if I were in any interview panel ask the candidates whether they read these above mentioned toilet tissues and what they like about them.
If they say they read and like them , that would be reason enough not to risk appointing them. I may be accused of bias, but rather have this bias rather than let the gas inside the organisation.
