This is a very obvious but not much publicized factual observation based interpretation/criticism/
If we listen carefully, beneath its America centric observations there are lessons for every institution.
The main lesson being priority must be given to basic humanitarian concerns, socio-economic welfare and literacy to become and be part of living in a civilized ( more preferably cosmopolitan outlook based) culture.
Once these basic requirements are met, then one may think of and talk about participation in trade, academics, science, access to advanced technologies, better infrastructure and all other aspects of modern civilized life along with appreciation of one's past glories, cultures, traditions, ideals , ideologies etc.
When I say ' institutions' I refer to political parties, big corporations, academic institutions, religious institutions etc.
Listen to his emphasis on "where are the schools, hospitals, bread....".
Of what use are rocket launchers, advanced machine guns, or gold adorning palaces or places of worship if they cannot provide health, happiness and habitable livelihood.
