Process of enlightenment

Real unbiased observation based, experientially felt, inner  seeking oriented grasping of facts/truths aided by an understanding that enable one to internalize such facts/ truths will not distort the inherent value of anything or anyone and also help one in relating with anyone or anything with proper perspective without inhibition exhibiting unqualified love and calmness that emanate from within and permeate all around.

This is the aura of initial step in enlightenment which will bless one with serendipitous sequence of steps to ascend in one's inner quest for life's meaning.

This cannot come about through any concept or ideology even if they are sanctified as lofty and sugar coated in exquisite language.

However,  certain concepts, ideas, thoughts or words that refer to them may trigger or prompt one to pursue a path of seeking and of learning with humility which accepts that one does not know many things and one wants to know.

Life is experience

Everyone is free to have his/her opinions on any issue and also take any stand.

However, as life progresses life's experiences will teach life is not and cannot be lived  within the confines of any political ideology either right or left; any religious edicts or scriptures, irrespective of its antiquity, contributions, heritage or whatever be the number of people following them.

Neither can life be scripted by any specific economic policy or social engineering crafted by any political outfit.

Wrong Priorities

It is good that many irrelevant and stupid aspects of religion have lost their relevance in most religions and humanity has moved towards rational, humanitarian, economic growth oriented development through science and tehnology to march towards civilized life of social harmony and peaceful cohabitation with all the comforts of modern life provided through science and technology and economic activities ( not any religious activity) where the nonsense in the name of religious fanaticism induced violence, racial discrimination based attacks , caste classes etc have at least minimized.

Fortunately, some sort of sanity prevailed on humanity especially after real estate space grabbing wars of invasions which demolished native cultures and the demise of super power cold wars etc.

Now, unfortunately, again vested interest groups in the name of religion are  rewinding humanity towards wasting all its centuries of acquired wisdom and rationality towards wrong priorities in the name of religious institutions and political outfits.

The casualities are sanity, unity and a liveable planet for posterity.

The major culprits whoever they may be , to whichever religious or political or ideological dispensation they may belong may end up paying the price.

Unfortunately, there will be collateral damages.

It takes years to build a bridge but in a single bomb the bridge can be blown off and it will not only demolish the bridge but also its surroundings.

There can  be never ending duel of justifications and counter justifications.

Let us wait and watch truth to unfold.

Life is lived beyond Ideologies

We don't live on or by any ideology and need  not live for any ideology either, but lead life with peace and let others too have that privilege of peace.

Every ideology,  principle, value system has its own merits and demerits, its own contextual relevance and life of every individual, society, nation has its own priorities besides, beyond and between the multitude of conflicting, contradictory ideologies, doctrines of religion, politics and multitude of social engineering 'isms' that crop up under  various masks with different labels like social reform, liberalism , capitalism,  communism, national legal systems, socio-culturally enforced traditions, moral and ethical systems.

Synergy with Ground reality important than board room analysis

10 points of GROUP consciousness of non specialist and non experts where ‘U’ is so obvious.

General Relevant Observations of Unbiased People and
SOP of popular leaders in social engineering.

Untenable uniformity and urge to unleash useless ideologies may not work anymore in real life as a tool of social engineering.

1. Useless is the mere academic board room analysis based on statistics/ data crunching that is disconnected or disoriented from certain inherent and inevitable ground realities which form an intrinsic aspect and part of life of individuals like traditions, habits, culture, history, geographical benefits or constraints and a host of other concomitant factors that form the fabric of the social milieu.

2. Useless it is to push any single idea or ideology however great, good or mighty it may  presuming it to be a panacea for all societies located at different places and leading different styles of life. Basically, life and nature manifest their splendor of variety defying and denying all attempts to homogenize.

3. Useless it is to prescribe or to extrapolate ideologies incubated in the academic board rooms of any subject of study to major aspects of social life.

4. Useless is the presumptive arrogance born out of prosaic /theoretical /utopia of academic knowledge [ appropriating the label of intellectual and often devoid of even relevant practical experiments] to condescendingly dismiss all forms of social, cultural, historical and economic activities that do not go with some specific  board room academic ideology.

5. Usually, real life on ground evolves through multitude of adaptations organically in all realms.

6. Usually and fortunately, majority of humanity prioritizes living on earth and enjoying a life that is healthy, happy and peaceful over confirming to predefined ideological parameters. So, life does not want to fly away and hence does not require wings to fly either the extreme right wing or extreme left wing ideologies.

7. Usually, intelligent people are sensitive to others’ ways of life, others’ ideas, others’ ideologies [ may be called as tolerance in a single word] and grasp life and living conditions comprehensively and in totality and suggest, supply and see to it that overall socio-economic growth happens without jeopardizing too much the social peace and harmony. Therefore, they are aware of introducing and implementing contextually relevant measures focusing more on energizing a synergy which will gradually generate and stimulate an organic evolution of required and conducive conditions for the life of those in who want to live in harmony with health, happiness, peace and prosperity and none of these [happiness, harmony, peace etc] have any uniform and universal quantifiable measurement.

8. Usually popular leaders emerge not merely through spinning academic theories, appeasements, appealing promises and slogans, authoritarian arm twisting with appalling performance on ground. It is through performance for the benefit of maximum number of people that such popular leaders emerge, especially in large and big democracies. Their SOP is Socially Optimize Performance through Synergetic Opportunity for Participation of many.

9. Usually such leaders are very much aware of and too tolerant not to get swayed by ideologies and the extrapolation of those ideologies with their well documented data [devoid of comprehensive ground realities], catchy slogans, patchy provocative victimhood peddling all of which get paraded through media and honored by some institutions.

10. Unfortunately, real popular leaders in present day cannot afford to toe the petrified perspectives perched on propaganda driven ideology with its putrefied perceptions and puerile publicity.

New Year PM to AM

Every year one more chronological and calendared ritual of New Year Day celebration comes around.

I make it a point to sum up issues, mostly economic, ecological, geopolitical, technological aspects that have impacted and the issues likely to have a dominant influence or impact on various aspects of life in the coming years.

It is based on books and articles that I have read during the year on these issues, mostly facts, observations, good suggestions from experts and in some cases worthy and workable remedial measures suggested a few, if any.

I harp on the necessity to accept facts as they are, even if they are really bad.

I try to eternally generate optimism and positivism to harbor hope rather than to nurture negativity.
Primarily, I do these not to please one into preaching from podiums; to submerge in sermons from secluded places, to maroon in motivational messages from self- help authors; to permeate with promises projected by political leaders; to plunge one into gloom from victimhood peddling pessimists etc, but merely to enable one to look for opportunities to address issues based on unbiased observation of facts without any preconditioned positions.

Nurturing negativism will focus more of criticism rather than looking for options to rectify or to improve.

So, let us not stop our march of optimism and hope.

Often, alexithymia [inability to express one’s feelings] and lethologica [when one cannot think of a word for something] both hamper precise communication or convey correct feelings.

Either last year or the year before that I made the following mindmap

When we look at or look out at this high decibel ritual of rather routine movement from PM to AM I thought of imaginatively penning down 24 spokes of a wheel of major PM issues and  AM action plans which may work as remedies but the stability of all these depend on the hub of 25th PM and AM.

This year I have made it as wheel, symbolically indicating the cycle of life and wheel of time

Benefit of using information, knowledge and communication as tools of social engineering

Benefit of using information, knowledge and communication as tools of social engineering.

Tim Blixseth writes, “Many great ideas go unexecuted, and many great executioners are without ideas. One without the other is worthless.”

“The person who has anticipated the coming of troubles takes away their power when they arrive.”-  Seneca, Consolation to Marcia

In the present day when lots and loads of information, data and knowledge are easily available and accessible to many, it would be wise first to be aware of all the facts and figures and act accordingly.

If they are pleasant and positive, then fantastic let us enjoy with the resolve to improve further and share the benefits with the less advantaged.

If negative and presenting probable problems, then we must prepare and plan with the best possible precautions to tackle the problems as well as prevent further deterioration.

If accessibility and availability of large volume of knowledge is there for many, then why problems are lingering on and in some cases the conditions deteriorate as well.

The answer may be bad or lack of governance; want of proper macro level systems, patterns and organized structures.

Why we need patterns or organized structures and macro level systems?

Cybernetics pioneer Norbert Wiener’s main emphasis in his marvelous work ‘The Human Use of Human Beings’, in his words is “We are not stuff that abides, but patterns that perpetuate themselves”.

These are, perhaps, because some ideological blocks and biases are preventing grasping the available knowledge and understanding with proper perspective based on contextually relevant priorities. Most often these ideological blocks and biases emanate from religion, politics, socio-cultural indoctrinations etc and most of these go beyond mere influence and become almost an internalized ingredient of one’s very identity and either pins down one to status quo or view everything through the prism of these biases or extrapolate these ideologies in all realms preventing proper understanding.

Fortunately, the benefits of advantages of many aspects of advancement of growth of civilization along with sophistication and comforts that emanated from science and technologies have  together prompted a few to think and to understand beyond and besides their ideological ghettoes of confirmation biases.

These clubs of a few, despite immense resistance from the many, manage to push forward a sense of balance and sanity.

“The first step toward success is taken when you refuse to be a captive of the environment in which you first find yourself.” – Mark Caine

Humanity, predominantly, is focusing on physical comforts, economic prosperity with all its concomitant benefits and utility as priorities. Per se, there is nothing wrong as they are very vital aspects of evolutionary trend. At the same time they must not be at the cost of other important things. There must be sanity to ensure a smooth transformation to leave a livable planet for posterity and at the same time not necessarily totally disorient from one’s identity as long as it does not act an impediment to growth, development, civilized cosmopolitan outlook and sophisticated cohabitation with peace and harmony.

Our PR is very important i.e. Perspectives and Relationships.

Perspective is to see the differences, do the analysis, use all energy but work towards synthesis and synergy.

As Anne Scottlin says, “Perspective controls all our perceptions of reality; imagine how your life would look if you had a bird’s-eye view”.

Relationships

Both our individual self and social self are to a large extent shaped by how we relate with our circumstances and how our contexts relate with us. There must be a sense of fulfillment in these relationships.

Life is never fulfilled with unfulfilled relationships within the family, with others in the society, with the environment, with the many sciences, subjects, systems that we come across which are useful to us, used by us or we are used by them and so on. So, the quality of life is the manifestation of the quality of the inter play of these various relationships.

We have the luxury of having some important information easily available in many of the links given at the end of this write up.  How we relate to them? How we perceive them? What is our perspective in dealing with them will all enable us to make the necessary changes as tools of social engineering.

Most of this information is about economics and socio-economic indicators.

“The person who has anticipated the coming of troubles takes away their power when they arrive.”-  Seneca, Consolation to Marcia

However, often, as Tim Blixseth writes, “Many great ideas go unexecuted, and many great executioners are without ideas. One without the other is worthless.”

Do we know enough about the situation?

Often we are aware of all the necessary facts and also feel the need, have the ideas/thoughts and willingness to involve and to improve or to rectify or to change things or to alter the situation, if required, by implementing the necessary actions.

Why action is required?

However, sometimes or perhaps most of the times some of us get into the shell of dilemma instilled by delicate situations wherein we hesitate thinking our involvement may be construed as unsolicited interference or may be met with strong opposition from status quo addicts. At the same time we also are haunted by a feeling of guilt of opting to be indifferent, especially if something negative happens or the situation worsens for want of timely action which was what we precisely wanted to do but hesitated to deliver.

What basis, not who, decides what aspects to be considered while entertaining ideas for implementation into action?

Life is not only about choices and decisions but also timely and precautionary actions based on contextually relevant perspectives and attitudes with sense of balance and sanity prioritizing to leave a socially, economically and environmentally lively and livable planet for posterity.

Having at least arrived at a over simplified and over generalized preachy option we need to also determine what quantum or level or size of action is required because we cannot get struck at micro levels, though we need to address micro issues and problems but we need to think and to act at macro level because that alone will set a pattern, structure, institutionalization etc all of which can act as a referral point for easy adoption and for posterity to follow.

Harry Petsanis (@harrypetsanis) tweeted at 10:50 pm on Wed, Nov 27, 2019:
"Quit making decisions on a micro level and start making them on a macro level. Remember; as you continue to psychologically and emotionally grow, the person making the decision today is not the person who will ultimately have to live with that decision."

How the information is presented, understood and interpreted are as important, if not more important than what information is presented.

There are many links about language because the narratives, the words and labels used, the way and the manner in which they are used as well as the stories that are floated are all extremely important in terms of their influence and impact.

Narratives are spread through rehearsed soundbites to use as reference points to redesign one’s frames of reference to perceive, to evaluate and to react in a certain specific manner to happenings/issues.

This was enormously misused and continues to be misused by many MSMs [main stream media houses] with hidden agenda, ulterior motives and dubious nexus but evolution has started countering them with a huge network of social media through a mobile phone in everyone’s hand with various platforms to disseminate information in real time.

However, still the impact of certain big media houses are there, though they are likely to fade away gradually in importance.

As  Kenneth Minogue writes in ‘The Silencing of Society’, “ Being so much a selection of facts from an infinitely complex reality, [news] can never achieve objectivity or impartiality, and hence any accusation of bias can only be one partisanship attacking another”.

Let us also remember the words of Marya Mannea wrote, “It is not enough to show people how to live better; there is a mandate for any group with enormous powers of communication to show people how to be better ".

Of course, even this can be done only where the people want to become and be better.

Sentences involving terms like contextual relevance, priorities, sanity, perspective, attitude, sophistication, civilization etc may have been repeated because these are important components of mindset that get etched in one’s sub-consciousness and manifest in one’s relationships and reactions.
