LEFT and its intolerant violence are inseparable.

Leftover LEFT in media and academia needs psychiatric treatment.

LEFT and its intolerant violence are inseparable.

Leftover LEFT is an outdated ideology which is anti-social, anti-humanistic and anti-developmental in nature and by nurture.

Left has for too long supported anti-social, anti-national, anti-developmental and in all cases anti-humanistic [everywhere] violent groups.

If we skim through the annals of history this becomes obvious they did and do with various outfits religious, social, ideological and so on which are fundamentally against order and orderly and peaceful living.

When their own script ran anywhere in history it manifested only violence and which was euphemistically called it as social revolution.

Thank goodness that they never called it humanistic revolution.

Their selective projections and slogan based fraternity and collective fanatical ideological affinity has caused more deaths both directly or indirectly through aiding and abetting groups which try to violently suppress and oppress other views.

Left is a silent, violent religion by itself. Its scriptures are its putrefied perceptions, sermons are puerile projections spiced with catchy slogans and they worship their petrified [idolized] ideology with a well run propaganda mechanism.

However, humanity’s greatest blessing is that they have not anatomically presented as a religion because they can change any principle as expediency is their only principle and opportunistic gains for their own leaders or the leaders that they sponsor is the only value.

However, they are present everywhere like poisonous insects stinging whenever their space is disturbed.

The bandwidth for dissent, discussion and different opinions is actually much better in most religions than in brain washing propaganda instilled narrow alleys of the leftover LEFT.

It is unfortunate that ideology based identity addicted youth of the LEFT lingering in the corridors of media and academia with all their wealth of information [mostly one sided] who therefore, suffer from poverty understanding go into depression and frustration and since the only knowledge and skill set they know of is either any anti-developmental activity or violence, either resort to them on their own and when incapable support other groups who do such things.

We can even tackle the latest problem humanity faces that of terrorism by weeding out these left loonies from media and academic circles.

Never believe even the ex-leftists

Why we must never believe even the ex-leftists.

Some in the leftover LEFT in media trying to pose out of sheer realization of their irrelevance pretend to change gears.

It is simple that these bunch of mass murderers of social harmony, masters of lies, appropriators of self proclaimed standards, assigners of false labels, perverted and perennial liars, manipulators of public opinion to favor the select pay masters, puerile perception peddlers, putrefying propaganda specialist living in isolated islands of petrified ideology which they proudly proclaim as left liberalism and have appropriated the term progressives for themselves.

This gradually extinct species have been leftover by the present generation of better informed youth and elders, literates and illiterates alike because the facts pop up in multitude of social media outlets in real time which exposes the selective amnesia and collective indifference of these folks.

They fear further isolation and punishments for all their misdeeds and misrepresentations, criminal activities etc. So, in such scenario there will always be some escapists among them as their only principle has been expediency and expertise is opportunism to make money and gain popularity not by hook or crook but by crookedly hooking on to the social fiber.

So some of them do not want to face the consequences of their misdeeds and some turn approvers to opt for lesser punishment and some also seek sympathy through hypocrisy.

The lists of the uneasy psychological conditions that emerge out of members of the gang of criminal misinformation peddlers are too many. So, we must not get duped by any of their postures and never support or think they can become sincere overnight.

The WHYs of education?

The WHYs of education?

“People lose their way when they lose their why” says, Michael Hyatt.

We need to know first why we are pursuing some education.

Not mere academic qualification or mere literacy, though they too are equally relevant and important for many aspects of social life.

Then why we need it?

Whether whatever we do in the name of education are they increasing happiness, adding value to the one doing it and then to others?

Whether it is tool for attaining something else or an end in itself?

What are all the skill sets we want out of education?

Most importantly what is the trade off?

It need not necessarily be the constant obsession with trade off for our time and money spend to be compensated with more money without greater happiness, peace and better understanding.

Education is not merely confined to making or earning money, skills in communication and calculation.

Whether any external coaching can improve intelligent perception beyond knowledge acquisition?

Whether anything can improve our understanding or our thinking or more interestingly go beyond the realms of thoughts?

Whether any specific method can endow us with some ability to grasp the pulse of every subject or inject clarity of understanding?

Normally, the best education starts with curiosity, meanders through imitation- as a natural instinct for short cut- as a child learns to speak the language and words spoken by its parents then expands through exploration, experimentation, empirical verification, rational justification and so on.

I have read a lot on the subject of education to get confused enough and I have written enough to pass on the confusion.

But when I encounter people, some of the so-called highly educated groping in the dark clueless in many areas of life or manifesting obvious idiocy then I am forced to look into the meaning, purpose and utility of the whole gamut of education.

Most of us when we talk of education, in general, not specific education for a intended outcome or purpose, are still swimming in a sea of vagueness and club a wide range of things under one single generic term ‘education’ including in it everything from basic literacy, ability to communicate, better verbal articulation of already available information or interpretation of existing data to making in depth study in the mechanism of the subject of study.

There is nothing wrong in this but we need to merely and humbly accept the fact that we do not have enough clarity whenever we use the word education.

Like everything else in life education too involves a constant process of adjustment and learning.

If we know exactly where we're going, exactly how to get there, and exactly what we'll see along the way, we won't learn anything”. M.S.Peck

Whenever we undertake or undergo any education the following aspects are embedded in our subconscious mind and they leave their imprint.
“All of us have our own inner fears, beliefs, opinions. These inner assumptions rule and govern our lives. A suggestion has no power in and of itself. Its power arises from the fact that you accept it mentally.”― Joseph Murphy, The Power of Your Subconscious Mind

“We must realize that the subconscious mind is the law of action and always expresses what the conscious mind has impressed on it. What we regularly entertain in our mind creates a conception of self. What we conceive ourselves to be, we become.”- Grace Speare.

In addition we are also subjected to the influences and impacts externally of a whole array of thoughts, ideas and ideologies of various hues and colors.

None of these can be defied or denied for any reason.

It would be a mistake if we conclude knowledge and understanding only in certain specific areas or domains of life is enough because life itself is too intricate, interconnected, inter- related and interdependent on various factors each having its own varied dimensions  and variety of dynamics both inner dynamics as well as interactive dynamics.

However, we cannot go on and on, debating and discussing the multiple meanings and complexities of education.

We need to start somewhere  for the benefit of maximum number of human beings as individuals as well as social entities and the whole natural environment we need to evolve some forms of education systems with lofty, practically useful, easily executable ideals and goals, all on the whole creating a synergy that will be of great value in any situation rather than getting educated excluding many things which one  may be required to come across in life later on and get stranded clueless and forced to depend on everyone else.

“In the end nothing less than the whole of everything can be the truth of anything at all”- William James

If possible as  Thomas Huxley  says, "Try to learn something about everything and everything about something."

In way we must be humble enough to acknowledge these pearls of wisdom that learning may broadly impart to us:-

1."All intelligent thoughts have already been thought; what is necessary is only to try to think them again." - Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

2. “If I have seen further than others, it is by standing upon the shoulders of giants.” -Sir Isaac Newton

3. Albert Einstein said, “It’s not that I’m so smart, it’s just that I stay with problems longer."

And ultimately from whatever  pearls of wisdom we manage to learn we need to pass on conducive terrain with the wisdom that we have gained for posterity  through many aspects of social engineering of which education is of paramount importance

Peculiarities of language

Language, fundamentally, names things, refers to actions, conveys concepts and calibrates with descriptions all the above.

Peculiarities of language a forward from a friend

I would disagree that in languages such as Chinese that you think in pictures! The pictogrammes form a word that represents the concept. The Chinese word for jealousy or lack of harmony is represented by the word for woman, written twice, under a single roof.

You would string together several words to form a sentence, several sentences to form a paragraph, etc. The average native speaker (as opposed to an artist) of Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Thai tend to think in "words" not in pictures, and there is a way to pronounce those words that would change their meaning in oral discourse.

I think the biggest difference in communication between you and your wife may be direct vs indirect communication modes.
Japanese and Chinese cultures tend to be closed, and their communication is indirect; meaning that rather than say what they mean, they say what they mean in context. Instead of asking you to shut the window, a person from those cultures may say "it is cold in here".

Being a member of the same culture, or having extensive exposure to that culture, you would understand that you are being requested to shut the window or turn on the heat.

Language lovers , Steven Pinker

Language lovers, aspiring writers and voracious readers do not miss this.
Steven Pinker on Good Writing, with Ian McEwan

No better person than him. Every book of his and talk of his is a very useful and educative manual for not only writers, language lovers, linguists but for all those who want to have an in depth perspective and get inspiring ideas into many subjects on which he writes.

All his talks, debates, group discussions, interviews, books are long but livid and lucid and therefore I love and lap them up.

‘Backing claims with evidence’ is the present day liberal way of writing.
Punctuation must not stop the flow of thoughts.

On etymological fallacies also, if ‘dece’ has to be etymologically only 10 then must we change ‘December as tenth month’ and many more.

Once a Harvard professor suggested me to read ‘How the mind works’, by Steven Pinker which I did read and enjoyed every bit of it.

Then, I asked him ‘can you suggest some book on ‘How to make it work’. He said jokingly ‘had I known I would not be teaching at Harvard nor talking to you.’

Language controversies

Like everything else language too is more susceptible to these factors contextual utility,   socio-cultural acceptability and to cater to the necessities that arise in a new environ [like words that have cropped up after the advent of cyber world].

All languages and everything in every language-like everything connected with life itself- emerge, evolve and sometimes become extinct in predominant usage too, though unfortunate.

It need not pander to any politicization or excessive and intense emotional attachment of   some individuals.

More so, in modern times as it revolves mostly around utility and ease of communication  rather than as a means of great literary niceties or a treasury of documentation of socio-cultural  activities.

Perils of Identity

Yes true but fundamentally and objectively if we look at it we can understand a lot.

It is not only about profession it is about every external identity.

For that matter any external identity because it ends up occupying our time and mind space so much that without realizing it such external identities become our second nature and slowly like a parasite devours our original nature.

Then we also succumb to such identities as it was us who chose, allowed and decided to wallow in the supposed worthiness of all those identities starting from religion, culture, language, thrust upon relationships and so on.

However, can we avoid any such identity is a big puzzle?

Sometimes it is out of our own jubilant choice and sometimes it gets tagged out of necessity of circumstances.

We cannot avoid many identities. Should we deny or try to drive away or try to compare or extrapolate with some ideology etc?

The answer is a big ‘No’.

However, we need not get addicted to any identity and also we can tolerate other identities.

Only such practical attitude can lead to some sane and peaceful social life.

“All of us have our own inner fears, beliefs, opinions. These inner assumptions rule and govern our lives. A suggestion has no power in and of itself. Its power arises from the fact that you accept it mentally.” Joseph Murphy, The Power of Your Subconscious Mind

We must realize that the subconscious mind is the law of action and always expresses what the conscious mind has impressed on it. What we regularly entertain in our mind creates a conception of self. What we conceive ourselves to be, we become.” Grace Speare.

Peace and Harmony are defined indirectly by wanting too much of same Identity in everyone and everywhere and want of  Tolerance.

Most importantly we must acquire the wisdom to make unbiased balanced views on everything concerned with life so that we can try to grasp the meaning of life with all its harsh realities and real hues and facets of variety that life is made of.

Civilization requires to view things in contextual relevance and perspective

Extremism of any sort will have its own logical end as evolution deems fit.

It is true that all human beings were at sometime cannibals and continue for longtime to be non-vegetarian on the planet.

Running to scripture for either justifying or debating or denouncing or denying  anything by itself is inherently illogical as scriptures were records of moral codes, social rules and regulations, traditions, cultures, entertainments etc practiced several centuries ago.

No scripture is either a panacea or a final authority on anything, much less a comprehensive manual of reference for everything.

Besides, nothing prevents any individual or society from emancipating into a different and better human being or a better civilization-if this term offends some- a different way of living by shedding existing habits and traditions.

But all said and done any activity and every activity need not be politicized and be subject to some bipolar extremism of for and against and carry on in endless debates with in inundation of ancient texts.

It is doing injustice to both the ancient scriptures and the subject at hand and also exposes the inability of human race to view things in contextual relevance and perspective.

Economics

Economics

To a very great extent  economics is  all about unbiased observations, unprejudiced perceptions, doing away with defensive statistical justifications, cutting off camouflaging irrelevant logical fallacies, chaffing off bombastic jargon, curtailing the instinct to churn out untested or untestable theories  and instead engage in interpretations of all the observed facts  uninfluenced by any ideological affiliations taking into consideration various factors that impact and/or involved in these facts appropriate to the context and relevant to the region.

Life is an unmapped atlas which gets its maps based on our choices, beliefs, actions, reactions, thoughts, attitudes etc and it is our hands to make each one of these continents as great and as good as possible

A non specialist common observer’s point of view:-

In the present scenario of globalized socio-economic structures it is wise not to take pride in exclusion or suffer isolation in any domain for whatever ideological or nationalistic reasons or belief systems or religious bigotry  and instead it is advisable, at least, to feign to be a part of global aspirations and activities.

However, at the same time it is equally true that at present international lobbies, mafias do not exercise that much of an impact especially where the political dispensation is sane and concerned about its nation’s economic and social welfare along with its ability to contribute and its utility to international economic activities through institutional policy driven developmental activities without being xenophobic for any internal political considerations and/or for  appeasing certain religious bigots.

When such a clean structured development process is in place what is vital is proper leadership in decision making authority and perfect vision with various arms of the government carrying out the vision with synergy and concomitant cooperation.

In such a situation no individual bureaucrat , much less a professional, manning any particular institution is indispensable, however great or smart or qualified or hyped or well connected  he/she may be, if he/she happens to not to fit into the scheme of things and fails to operate with synergy.

Essence of progress is in policies, performances and programs and political decision making and does not hinge on one or two professionals executing them or manning them.

All professionals in various ministries and departments must remember that they are the executing arm of the policy decisions taken by the parliament or similar authorities.

It is also preferable that top posts to important institutions are decided on various factors relevant to vision and mission of the institution and the interests of the nation and its citizens; and not on personal whims or media sponsored publicity or hype [while the former is a benign cancer the latter is a malign cancer and hence both must be avoided].

Besides like life itself, modern economics is too complex and operates with multiple dimensions and myriad dynamics involving various factors and keeps changing its patterns like those of a kaleidoscope in a monkey’s hand.

So, it is possible still that any nation could be trapped into trouble equipped with all the accumulated knowledge of past patterns of operations of economics.

That’s why whatever the theoretical and technical expertise were, no one could prevent nor avoid the great recession of boom to bust from 2007 to 2009.

Awareness and alertness to welcome or ward off things that emerge from various manipulations and scheming of international politics and economics along with intra-national relationships is more important for economic stability and strength.

Demonetization

                                                    Demonetization

Democracy

                                         Democracy

In terms of chronological classification as ‘time-tested’ with relation to human life democracy is relatively too young compared to say monarchy and other socio-political systems.

Democracy like mass literacy  or anti-biotic, is accepted for want of a better alternative and sometimes we adopt it in totality as if it is the only method or succumb to it and unfortunately it also becomes  inevitable in certain circumstances.

However, within it or along with it or beyond it we can always play around.

Until and unless we have better alternatives or keep trying for better alternatives or at least allow space to think of better alternatives and also ensure to make the vested interest groups involved in promoting certain methods, all great thoughts, ideas and speeches will remain as unfertilized potential eggs pandering to  few moments of sensational titillation.

This also, invariably happens because of our utter disgust with existing systems. We tend to oversimplify or over generalize extremely complicated and complex issues which is as bad or little less as those who have been trying to homogenize human beings, especially their psychological aspirations, feelings and creativity.

AAP the mask and more

Evaluations

Evaluations may be defined as E=mc² i.e. Evaluations= Mental manifestations in Contexts.

A matter of evaluating Demonetization, vital mistake we must desist from in evaluating anything is extrapolating with anything either our ideological bias or inferred benefits.

Economic activities as aspects of social engineering and governance need not necessarily be and explicitly always be about short term gains.

On evaluation even great research works like the bulky  ‘Evaluation: A Systematic Approach‘ by Peter H. Rossi, Mark W. Lipsey, and Howard E. Freeman first published  get such reviews like ‘There is never any clear instruction about how one should begin an evaluation or how one should proceed’.

The most comprehensive book on evaluations ‘ Making Evaluation Matter-a practical guide for evaluators’ by Cecile Kusters with Simone van Vugt, Seerp Wigboldus, Bob Williams and Jim Woodhill also emphasizes certain factors repeatedly and predominantly they are context/situation, situational responsiveness, stake holders, inherent qualities of the project /program/person being evaluated ,multiple roles, consequence awareness etc
Even this material also throws lot of light on evaluation ‘American Journal of Evaluation-2011-Smith-565-99.pdf

Here I am tempted to quote, “Friend to Groucho Marx: “Life is hard…” Grouch Marx to Friend: “Compared to what?”

It is preferable to  immerse  any topic or subject matter, primarily and basically with its intrinsic elements/components/aspects/attributes intact, into a cauldron which has  a mixture of all these- knowledge based analysis, limited perception based on frames of reference and scales of observation, skepticism , criticism, intellectual scrutiny, compassionate emotionalism, humane socialism, rational thinking, contextual relevance [ which includes too many components] , traditions, practical viability, psychological comfort, aesthetic sensitivity, scientific scrutiny etc and  churn the cauldron without clinging on to any particular restrictive social, cultural or political or religious identity.

This process inevitably will bring out lot of outputs. We can exercise our freedom and sometimes select and choose some of the outputs. Sometimes the outputs will draw us. Sometimes away from all or any of our intended searches and seeking, outside the circle of these known paradigms, almost tangentially serendipity will drag us to an oasis of serene clarity.

At all costs the intrinsic attributes must be the predominant factor so that whatever is thrown into the cauldron and however it is churned, the ultimate output must include those attributes so that evaluation is not distorted or desperately doctored to fit into any predefined and expected outcome.

So, what pans out ultimately depends on various factors and aspects some of which are explainable within the ken of logical and rational thinking but some are beyond these.

We can also observe uneasily how the human intellect polished by a rare faculty
[ compared to other species]  of conscious awareness, capacity to think, store the knowledge, retrieve it for reference and so on  is mostly, unwilling to take the risk of accepting the uncertain; the intellectually undecipherable and the inexplicable outcomes, even if such acceptance is branded, extolled and promoted as virtues of humility or modesty.

“Get out of your own way… stop the paralysis by analysis… decide what you want, create a simple plan, and get moving!” - Steve Maraboli.

I beg you… to have patience with everything unresolved in your heart and try to love the questions themselves as if they were locked rooms or books written in a very foreign language. Don’t search for the answers, which could not be given to you now, because you would not be able to live them. And the point is, to live everything. Live the questions now. Perhaps then, someday far in the future, you will gradually, without even noticing it, live your way into the answer. ~ Rainer Maria Rilke.

“Across planes of consciousness, we have to live with the paradox that opposite things can be simultaneously true.” ― Ram Dass.
