ACTION

Can You Act?
Are you the person you want to be? Do you always act the way you want to act? Do people remember you the way you want to be remembered? While you do not have control over how other people perceive you, you can influence that perception. How do you ‘act’ in social and business environments? Do you project self-confidence, a high degree of belief in yourself? Or do you act like you are not sure of anything or anyone, including yourself?

The self is not something ready-made,
but something in continuous formation
through choice of action.
– John Dewey

Dr. George W. Crane says ‘act the way you'd like to be, and soon you'll be the way you act’. You may have heard this as ‘fake it until you make it’. You say – ‘but that’s not me. There’s no way I could act differently’.

Do not be too timid and squeamish
about your actions.
All life is an experiment.
- Ralph Waldo Emerson

Dennis Waitley says ‘it’s not what you are that holds you back, it’s what you think you are not’. Read that again - It’s what you think you are ‘NOT’. Yes, it is frightening when you try something new, but you have the natural ability to do what ever you want. As George Bernard Shaw once said 'life isn't about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself."
- Joe Freeman

We lift ourselves by our thought, we climb upon our vision of ourselves.
If you want to enlarge your life, you must first enlarge your thought of it and of yourself.

Hold the ideal of yourself as you long to be, always, everywhere –
your ideal of what you long to attain - the ideal of health, efficiency, success.
- Orison Swett Marden
