How ancient rishis predicted weather

The above has been circulating for quite some time. But, my wonder is how the ancients, without cameras and other gadgets, by sheer observation only, had calculated these phenomena  and fashioned their mundane and religious life in tune with it.

It is simply less distraction and lesser need to  exhibit enables better and deeper observation. That's why they had observed those things. Even now I  come across villagers who predict rain and wind seeing the direction in which thukana kuruvi constructs its nest.

But, observing stars with a naked eye is a different ball game than observing day to day weather on ground.

This could be because less pollution combined with more acute extrasensory perceptions, knowledge of esoteric sciences, clairvoyance etc  ( these words wouldn't have been there , if those experiences had not existed) with some crude tools may have helped as later on some people tried to decipher the clues and communicate to the world  like Woodroof, Colin Wilson, Julian Huxley, Leadbeater, Madame Helena Petrovna Blavatsky etc.
