Politics is more about opportunism, sensationalism and publicity

Politics is more about opportunism, sensationalism and publicity.

At ground level really yes. Both the media and the government boasts only about big investments, claims of great strides made in certain sectors while the harsh reality is various factors get ignored in the process of economic projection. At least, fortunately, India is not in a huge debt trap like China and the US.

The constraints of democracy is a curse especially the ones where the majority of the media are vultures looking out for victimhood peddling; judiciary works on wrong priorities and procrastination;  the bureaucrats are the preferred and positioned feeder cells ( in realms irrespective of their expertise but their well knit connection with vested interest lobbies ) to the political decision makers.

This heady cocktail leads to  indifference to important issues as the hangover of varying degrees of ignorance lingers around.

If we get into several minute details , which unfortunately, everyone including the whole opposition is either, most likely, ignorant and even the media is unaware. I have certain observations which I can share with you while we chat. These are , equally , silent undeclared incomes for the government.  So, they are choosing to blissfully ignore the expenditures.

The stupid or crooked PC abolished a very important course in accounting in India ICWAI which studied in greater detail certain vital aspects of accounting which go missing even in CA and all types of Financial Audits.

This was called costing. In costing there were detailed studies of ' operational expenses' which is one of the most vital aspects of many business activities.

In the absence of the detailed accounting of that we have income, revenue and only capital expenses. This projection is good for both getting funding as well as political publicity but reality will be a big mismatch.
