DIFFERENCES, VARIETY and ONENESS.

We live in a world where it's easy to forget that our very first duty is not to a political or religious concept, or to a flag, but to each other…

That is the only philosophy in which I believe at present.

I keep repeating the above slide very often, ad nauseum.

Though it is wrong to oversimplify everything, unfortunately, to convey certain things to the present generation whose attention span and patience have shrunk too much, I use these types of slides.

Tamil and Sanskrit literature has the most ancient SMS and TWITTER.

As the great saint poet of Tamil Avaiyar conveyed great philosophy through SMS and another  saint poet Tiruvalluvar made a whole book of Twitters. Sanskrit slokas are linguistically too brief and philosophically very broad.

So, this is nothing new and the obvious facts exist in the vast ocean of literature, history and philosophy.

It is there for every discerning mind and willing heart these facts that are well explained, in easily understandable languages, authentic , proven, well documented through evidences from the most fundamental, inevitable and basic biological facts to abstract spiritual sciences indicating both variety and underlying ONENESS.

These are not utopia, but reality i.e., DIFFERENCES, VARIETY and ONENESS.

We cannot defy or deny anyone of the above three fundamental facts but learn how to handle them sanely.

Many of the sane political, theological, religious texts, arts and cultures, traditions and all sciences have also tried their best to bring to light these facts and see the synergy amid the chaos and differences.

We need to learn to relate with everything and everyone without any preconceived notions but with a heart to accept.

"Life is after all not mere chronology of existence but a meaningful topology of relationships.

We cannot experience life based on past templates nor future projections but can experience life as a live activity at present in the present situation or context.

However, we can imbue our attitude in dealing with any context with some time- tested humane values like compassion, love, forgiveness, humility, sharing and caring.

These will ensure that even during the spur of the movement, spontaneous or short tempered reactions, the hurt or negative impact will be less or at least less violent.

Along with these attitudes we must also ensure that every word and deed are- out of concern - calculated, measured, nuanced and calibrated to the context but taking into consideration all the sensitivities and sensibilities of all involved.

Therefore, words and deeds have to be also   nice and diplomatically delivered.

Most importantly egocentric psychological interpretation of actions must be avoided because it will see adjustments or cooperation as compromise and so on.

Every relationship is a many faceted splendor and all the facets together contribute to the splendor, whether it is with persons, books, movies, any art, music, culture, tradition, gadgets, environment, vehicles or anything".

I wrote this as part of a debate which I later on posted in my blog
