Violence and the West

The West is unashamed of violence.

They proudly display a museum in Naples, Italy which has all torture equipment used for centuries.

If you visit that place, you won't feel like eating for two days.

Similarly, the place where slave trade started in the world by Portuguese  and the very  descents of the slaves eking out living by acting as tourist guides explaining everything. How they groomed able bodied men and tortured weak men and women, and the cruellest way used to kill them are really heart wrenching to see in a small remote Island off the coast of Dakkar Ile Gore.

I visited both the places and bought books about them as well. They have neither shame nor regret.

The other Abrahamic religion is the correct counter for these chaps.

Unfortunately, people don't read proper history, not that they are not around.

History for a United World by Dance records that there was only one civilization which exhibited civilized behaviour that is Hindus.

I also read a book called Our Divided World: Poverty, Hunger & Overpopulation. Our Only Earth Series. A Curriculum for Global Problem Solving- By Eric

Ronald Harvey in his book ‘Our Fragmented World’ writes, “The influence of environment begins long before birth. It begins at the beginning, with our genes. Genes do not exist in vacuo. They are part of their environment as we are to our world. They are as it were ‘sewn into’ their environment as we are to ours. No organism ever develops without an environment. It is not inheritance per se but the interaction between inheritance and environment where the responsibility must be placed”. “So, our world and ourselves are one, we and our world form part of an organic whole”

We just pass under the carpet who did what and when, use such stupid GK questions.

We never question why it was done?

Then what leads to certain horrible events?

Then how was it executed?

At last the short term and long term impact and so on.

We know animals attack when they are hungry or when they apprehend danger. But we hardly try to know why and how a single individual or ideology could sway an entire population and what measures were used.

The root cause of violence may not always be from a single individual; it must be the result of either prevailing culture or accepted practice.

Certain books like Satre's Saint Gene and Erick Fromm's Anatomy of Destruction ( about Hitler) explain the psychology of the individual and the why and how of  they got manifested on a large scale.
