Survival of the fittest can be a soulless reality , competition can be cruel and everything has an expiry date

Longevity of survival gets shrunk due to high level of competition which is
relevant at a specific context and time.

Survival of the fittest can be a soulless tale of reality.

Everything and everyone have an expiry date. All good and great things must
come to an end. In certain domains the longevity of survival gets further
shrunk due to various factors like context and very high level of competition,
not only from or within the domain but various extraneous pressures like
regional and internal politics, promoters’ choice etc.

If this is the case even for Kohli with all his fitness, imagine the pressure that it
can have for lessor fit mortals.

Survival of the fittest can be a soulless tale of reality.

Dynamics of ‘long term’ survival, sustenance and success are getting shrunk.
What weathers these breaks and survives are good memories, nostalgia and
documented the evidence for posterity to chew and enjoy[ now technology
enables in various formats].

Still, any day I can enjoy the straight drive of Sunil
Gavaskar, run up of Kapil Dev, the casual minimal efforts filled but sheer
timing-based sixes of Shewag, the accurate bowling of Kumble, the wristy
shots of VVS etc.

Would any T-20 team have picked Prasanna, Chandrasekar, Chetan Chauhan [
that era of only bowling with minimal fielding or just defensive play without
scoring runs is over].
