Color

                                     Very colorful write up interesting and inspiring.

           1.    Colors conjure lots of feelings, ideas, and emotions depending on
                   the connections

2.    Colors have a huge influence or impact, of course according to the level of sensitivity or sharpness of the organ eyes or the mind or temperature or species or instrument or person noticing it.

3.    Some people may wonder how temperature and mind are involved.

4.    In fact to know this people must read detailed book s on evolutionary biology.

5.    Guy Murchie write in his wonderful book The seven Mysteries of Life , “Tests have shown too that a mammal's sight and hearing cease to function about when his temperature gets down to 94°F. Or his pulse to 40 a minute. His breathing becomes undetectable around 8o°F., his heart stops by 50°F., and oxygen is hardly needed in any form below 39°F.”.

6.    He also writes in the same book , “In humans the senses of heat and cold are less acute than in most animals and are usually described as twin senses using differentiated sets of specialized nerve cells: a set of about 150,000 in the outer fiftieth of an inch of the skin to register cold and another of 16,000 deeper in the skin to register heat. While human skin fluctuates a good deal in temperature, averaging around 81°F., and doesn't seem to be thermostatically controlled like blood, a mysterious skin area has been discovered in the center of the forehead that registers temperature differences as small as one sixtieth of a degree. I haven't heard any anatomist associate it with the "pineal eye," an eyelike structure in the forebrain believed by some to be a vestigial sense organ or "third eye." But I notice that, in the case of hagfish, lampreys and a few reptiles, the counterpart of this lobe evidently evolved what have been described as "visual structural adaptation," and there is growing evidence that it produces at least a little actual vision. Probably the most interesting thing about this comparison of infrared and visual seeing is that these brother senses caught the world's attention only recently with the discovery that the hypothalamus is not only the body's thirst center and central "eye" of temperature awareness, but that, significantly, the temperature eye and the visual eye both evolved from the same matrix at the bottom of the third ventrical of the brain, out of which the visual eye moved forward to view the outer world, while the temperature eye turned inward to monitor the blood, their relation becoming one of the most elegant instances of sense complementarity in all the kingdoms of life”.

7.    In occult science lot of importance is given to the colors in the aura around the persons, places, things etc.

8.    Musical notes or tunes are also converted into colors sometimes by experts.

9.    While the expression face is the index of the mind is very popular, I am surprised why no expressions like eye is the best tool of observation or attention.

10.          Eyes, everything you wanted to know about eyes

Healthy Vision

Healthy Vision
Our eyes are incredible organs that provide us detailed information about the world around us. For anyone, the loss of vision can be a Eye Healthcrippling concern.

When we think about vision loss, the most common cause is known as macular degeneration. The macula is the area of the eye where images are focused. Macular degeneration is the leading cause of severe visual loss in the United States in persons fifty-five years or older. Nearly 150,000 Americans are legally blind from age-related macular degeneration with 20,000 new cases occurring each year.

The most common risk factors for macular degeneration are aging, smoking, hardening of the arteries (atherosclerosis), and high blood pressure. All of these risk factors are believed to contribute to decreased blood and oxygen supply to the eye (specifically the retina) which leads to increased damage to the macula. The degeneration of the macula is the result of free radical damage, similar to the damage that occurs in the formation of cataracts.

As with many health concerns that progress as we age, macular degeneration can be prevented by maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Because exposure to free radicals is a major factor in macular degeneration, avoiding or quitting smoking is of the utmost importance. High blood pressure and the progression of heart disease is also a major risk factor, so practicing heart healthy habits is critical.

Here are some simple tips to maintaining healthy vision:
· Get regular eye exams. Per recommendations from the American Optometric Association, if you have no risk factors for vision loss, schedule eye exams every two to three years until age 40, every two years between ages 40 and 60, and annually after age 60. If you have diabetes, family history of eye problems, or are African-American, you may need more frequent vision exams. People of African-American descent are at greater risk for glaucoma.
· Wear sunglasses with both UVA and UVB protection. Worn consistently, these sunglasses can block ultraviolet and other rays that contribute to cataracts and macular degeneration. Sunglasses are especially important when near snow or water, which intensify the sun’s harmful rays.
· Eat healthy food. Snack on lots of fresh fruits and vegetables. Fruits and vegetables are rich in vitamins that can prevent eye disease. Green leafy veggies such as kale, collard and mustard greens and spinach contain lutein and carotenes, which help to protect from macular degeneration. Fresh blueberries are a rich source of proanthocyanadins, an antioxidant pigment that is protective to the macula.
· Don’t smoke. If you do, try to quit. Smoking can injure the eyes in many ways, increasing the risk of optic nerve damage, cataracts, macular degeneration and other disorders.
· Give your eyes a break. Any activity that requires your eyes to focus for a long time can keep you from blinking enough. Prevent eye strain on the road by stopping and resting your eyes or giving them a drink of artificial tears if they are fatigued or irritated. Make sure to drink plenty of water – dehydration has a significant effect on your eyes.
· Keep fit. Maintaining a healthy body contributes to eye health. Regular exercise increases circulation and lowers blood pressure, which can decrease the risk of eye diseases. Seeing your primary care physician yearly can help rule out systemic problems such as heart disease and diabetes, both of which affect the eyes.
· Supplement your diet. Adding a daily multivitamin in addition to a lutein supplement can provide additional nutritional resources for promoting eye health. A number of very good research studies have demonstrated theimportance of vitamins, minerals and antioxidant nutrients, like lutein in protecting and enhancing vision.

THE ROMANCE OF THE EYES

THE ROMANCE OF THE EYES
When with your eyes you just SEE
I know it is an expression of your concern for me;
When with your eyes you give me serious STARE
I know it is an expression of your care;
When with your eyes you merely GLANCE
I know, with your continued stare you don't want to put me in a trance
When with your eyes you pierce into me and LOOK
I know it stimulates the stuff above my neck;
When with your eyes you ESPY (to discern something obscure)
I know to come near you I must try;
When with your eyes you Descry (to discern something obscure)
I know ,in it, with you, only a few can vye;
When with your eyes you LEER (to look slyly)
I know, unconsciously, my attention it does veer;
When with your eyes you emotionally GAZE (look fixedly)
I know it penetrates my heart deeper than x-rays;
When with your eyes you PEEK (to glance furtively)
I know it is involvement and anxiety at its peak;
When with your eyes you just PEEP
I know it brings out the feelings that are deep;
When with your eyes you just GLIMPSE
I know all my worries it trims;
When with your eyes you carefully WATCH
I know about my security I need not worry much;
When with your eyes you carefully GANDER (look purposefully)
I know it is to remind memory's pleasant calendar;
When with your eyes you SQUINT
I know I must take the hint;
When with your eyes you are BLINKING
I know it involves deep thinking;
When with your eyes you widen your VIEW
I know my heart is going to melt like the early morning dew
When with the eyes of the mind, if we see, it is only from under the eyebrows
I know, and of course, you too know, come forth the Cupid's arrows.
