Ornamental diamond is the first worst deception played on the weakness human psyche. 

 

 

Unfortunately, humans instinctively value externally mostly lifeless shining materials but must naturally live because of and live with organisms with life. 

 

A more unfortunate thing became evident when the environmental activists, like most social  activists’ ideology driven actions, isolated and distanced themselves from nature/ environment and made environment as another socio-political ' issue' without realising that everything around is either obviously, directly or indirectly part of our 'tissue'. 

 

This is one of the reasons, I like Jaggi of Isha's condemnation of English poets referring to forests or trees as woods when they must be called as trees or forests, till they decay or die as every living organism must. 

 

Would it be nice to call a celebrating crowd of people or a matching army of humans as bodies or corpses celebrating or marching ahead. Often, the words and expressions, one uses, indicate the thought processes. 

 

The only sensible thing that is happening in some of the Western countries now is that they collect the ashes of the dead and make them into diamonds and wear them as a ring or dollar of a necklace ( this makes them realise that diamonds can be and are made in labs).

Unless and until the mindset of valuing things and using beings reverses totally sanity and sense are difficult to prevail. 

 

I wrote an article in 2007 about diamond. Then, later found lot of materials in internet and added a few aspects and posted the blog in 2012.
