Great and good governance by BJP? MODI's government
despite all hurdles
But what more needs to be
done keep the momentum.
Though in the present day
leading a nation of India’s size, diversity, population, youth with very high
expectations and so on, make it too complicated with lot of complexities. Added
to these, the pull and push of political compulsions with too many irresponsible
political parties, remote controlled outdated and irrelevant ideological
outfits [ often anti-national], disruptive technological advancements and the
impact of unpredictable geopolitical churning make things tougher.
In this scenario, prioritising
aspects of governance becomes even more difficult. Besides, many
aspects of the nation’s growth require parallel and equal attention and drastic
changes in a country like ours can be implemented only gradually or even if
implemented by force [ though that is very rare], the acceptance will take
time.
But the political history,
geography and economic growth of the past few centuries have taught us enough
and we are blessed that BJP/MODI have those lessons as an inevitable blueprint
to act upon or at least not to ignore them.
Lesson number one:- Security.
Even some of the natural resource rich African countries have not
progressed as much as certain natural resource rich countries of the Middle
East because the African nations have ignored national security from
internal violences and external threats. This means not only big
military power but dealing effectively and firmly with all or any anti-national
elements which create unwanted nuisance internally under whatever label or
ideology.
Lesson number two :- Encouraging
big private business houses. If we study the past few decades, the
countries that have developed in economic growth had maximum number of
flourishing big private business houses. They are too obvious for us
to name them.
Lesson number three :- Employment
Generating activities which will fix the missing pieces of the puzzle of global
economic necessities [ not to be confused with globalisation which had
hidden agenda from the beginning]
USA focusing on and encouraging many vital R&D in
Science and
technologies,
CHINA acting as a mass producer of several essential
products keeping its political
ideologies away from interfering with its economic developmental agenda.
Germany by virtue of its traditionally huge Industrial
machinery manufacturing sector .
Japan due to its innovations, hardworking citizens and its
defence expenses being taken care of by SCAP [Supreme Command of Allied Powers
] for long and the 1952 San Francisco Treaty wherein 49 countries agreed to
help.
France due to its focus on good education and opting for sane
energy option with maximum nuclear plants.
INDIA acting as a big skilled and intellectual
workforce provider for many service sectors but still lagging in many
areas.
Whereas nations which had the
advantage of starting the century as wealthy nations [out of the colonial loot-
some European nations] but failed to provide any piece of the puzzle of
global economic necessities are tasting the inevitable fact that
life of luxury without any responsibility but mere international political
hegemony and bossy insolence driven manipulation and threats alone cannot
sustain them for long.
Despite all hurdles, one
undeniable fact is that the present BJP/MODI government for the past 11
years has focused on good governance and shifted the gears on various verticals
to take the nation ahead in economy, civilizational and cultural revival,
improving infrastructure etc the few vital fulcrums [ or full luck RAMs ] along
with effectively promoting a well deserving and capable person and projecting
him as a cult figure [rightly so, because the masses take easily to a cult
figure of fame and name to recognise easily -that’s why film stars and sports
personalities are easy crowd pullers-rather than impersonal great and good
services and works on ground.
However, history teaches us
that sustaining the cult status for too long is too demanding on the individual.
This takes a huge toll on
such a cult like leader especially in a country like India with frequent
elections, constant negative scrutiny by too many stakeholders who have lost
the dividends – this includes all status quo addicts and luddites along with a
hostile media, multitude of middlemen, the whole chain of corrupt bureaucrats
etc.
Our Honourable PM.MODI has
somehow managed till date.
However, it is high time
that they need to promote the institution, namely RSS and BJP as the image as
well as enablers of delivery of good governance.
which involves promoting and
projecting lot of his capable second line of leaders whose collective
contributions have enabled the success and make them gradually more visible in
the radar of recognition and acceptance by the masses.
Otherwise, all the good work
done by MODI and his party may end up in failure and the country may go back to
square one of corruption and all its concomitant catastrophes.
People are always loaded
with greater expectations, easily duped while seeking change for the sake of
change, even in all religions people migrate to NRMs be they cults, popular
preachers, logical and philosophised sermon narrators away from places of
worship just for a change as
they feel the traditions and rituals become too trite.
Institutionalising
goodness and greatness beyond and besides the charisma, capabilities,
cleverness, character, aura, potential etc is vital.
Classic example, in the Indian context, is that despite the
fact there were many great saints and sages who imparted great wisdom down the
ages and there are mutts with clear-cut well-defined duties that they are
carrying out, still a few stand more active and visible, namely Bhagwan
Ramakrishna Krishna Paramahamsa’s RKMs started by the great modern monk Swami
Vivekananda, ISKCON, Chinmaya Mission etc. Though there are many others, they
are not as effectively visible as these three, especially the first two with
proven track record [time-tested], visibility and commercial sustainability as
institutions.
