Biographies- Need for short
biographies and documentaries.
Unfortunately, except for some
Amar Chitra katha books we hardly try to make short biographies of great
and good souls and achievers.
Especially their journeys, experience and
perspectives.
For example, whenever you listen to an interview of
Kapil Dev or Sunil Gavaskar , they may not or need not be giving lectures on
sacred scriptures or indulge in sermons or preach but their approaches,
perception and perspectives are refreshing.
Similar is the case with many doctors because they
are dealing daily with people with pain, trauma, tragedy and terrible
situations.
There is a need to document life experiences of
people from a wide spectrum of life because that will enable one to appreciate
the good and great.
Get inspired and motivated and learn from the
mistakes and refrain from repeating the same etc. This is where the West is
ahead.
Even when we write biographies, we resort to hyped
hero worship, personal glorification rather than what they contributed, how and
why and in what way those contributions helped society etc.
We make biographies into a directory of
mutual appreciation club members or clients of ego massage parlours.
Whereas , see these types of books, which I bought
a few years back.
