New Year and Past

New Year stuff continues till 31st.

As most of us know January is named after Janus with Roman God with two heads looking in the opposite direction one signifying the 'past' and the other 'the future', that's why many decide to get intoxicated in celebration to forget the present.

Though present is the actual period of experience 'The Power of Now' as Echart Tolle's simple book explains.
However, we like to use the PAST as the

Template.

We love to revisit '1. epics, 2.history and 3. biographies'as they serve the purpose as a ready reckoner by documenting lived experiences for us.

Among the three the first two are elaborately discussed, debated, doubted and devotedly deliberated.

Biographies, on the other hand have been  confined to only those who have achieved something, excelled in something, were successful and impacted society and life in general.

However, every life, irrespective of socially acknowledged greatness, has some experience which may be of great value to at least some human beings. It is like only a few whose signatures become autographs but every signature like the thumb impression has its own unique identity and relevance.

Unfortunately, except for a few biographies many tend to focus on factors which may not be of great importance. I used to think of this and whenever, I was asked to write some short biographies for some magazines I have never succumbed to the pitfalls.

Hence, reproducing whatever, I felt were important aspects of a biography.

Short note on past.

In any case philosophically speaking no one can rewind his/her life.

Humans have the faculty of memory, which is a double -edged sword. Good and pleasant ones make life interesting.
