Hamsanandi
It is a wonderful janya raga of 53rd Malakartha. The
beauty of prathimadyma melakartha raha Gamanashrama (53rd) is that it has given
birth to some excellent Janya ragas
emerge, notable for its notes (S R₁ G₃ M₂ P D₂ N₃ Ṡ) (Hindustani equivalent,
Marwa) key janyams include
Hamsanandi, Poorvikalyani, Behag, Sowrashtram to
name the few popular ones.
The composition that comes to our mind is Guru
Paavana Guru on Guruvayurappan. Excellent explanation is given by Prince Ravi
Varma here .
Great explanation of the kriti on
Guruvayurappan. I used to follow the school of Chembai of course through K.J.
